sooooo
I've technically lost all the baby weight I put on when pregnant with Riley (I realize its been 14 months, no it didn't take me 14 months, I'm just letting you know its gone)
I give credit to my weight loss solely to BREASTFEEDING!!!!! Seriously moms DO IT! If not for the amazing health benefits for your baby and the bonding between you and your child, but for the weight loss.
I am starting a new campaign and have added another reason to my long list of reasons I whole heartedly support breastfeeding....8 billion dollars! Yes, our country could in fact save approximately 8 billion dollars that is spent on formula if mothers who are on WIC would breastfeed. Before you get too upset, I'm NOT in any way saying that all mom's can breastfeed, I realize there are some instances that it just doesn't work. And if you've tried but didn't succeed for some reason, I commend you. BUT there are women out there that just don't even try it. Whether they don't give it a shot becasuse they're not supported, they have no information regarding it or whatever, I think there's a lot that can and should be done to bring that 8 billion dollars down! Especially in a time when we're cutting teachers and education programs. Just think of the slogan "breastfeed now so your child can be in band later" Does that motivate you? ha!!
I think we should educate new moms more, support them more and maybe even buy them/rent them a breast pump to make it more manageable!
Ok, so enough of my ranting....just thought you should know.
But, I have lost the baby weight but have yet to be back into my pre-pregnancy shape and fitness. Yes my stomach should be now reffered to as a "belly" {i hate this word} my arms are flabby even though my son weighs 22 lbs and my legs are not muscular at all, its a wonder I'm able to walk around. So, I want to start running again. But I need some motivation accountablity to do it and stick with it. You know when you haven't ran in a long time, its just hard to get back at it.
So I've set up a reward system that Tyler may or may not know about...
Run for 3 times a week for the rest of March I'll buy another pair of running shorts. You know you have to look good running. {let's be honest, I probably will never look good running, but at least my outfit will be cute}
Run for 3 times a week for the entire month of April and I'll buy $10 worth of new music {maybe more?!} for my ipod. Oh, by the way, the jogger I got has "music on the move" so I plug my ipod in and it plays it on speakers so Riley can jam too, or so I'm not tempted to use headphones while wheeling a stroller around.
Run for 3 times a week for the entire month of May and I'll get a pedicure for my running feet
Run for 3 times a week for the entire month of June and I'll get a puppy to train to run with me {I'm under the impression that having a dog to run with you makes it not so unbearable, but really I get the dog regardless as long as we're selected which, again I'll tell you about more later} On another note, how silly am I going to look pushing a jogging stroller with an 8 week puppy in tote?! HA!
Run for 3 times a week for the entire month or July and I'll get a new pair of running shoes
Run for 3 times a week for the entire month of August and Tyler can take me on a fancy schmancy date
Run for 3 times a week for the entire month of September and I'll get a new wardrobe?! I'm thinking this is perfect because I'll have been running for 6 months....Ok, maybe not an entire new wardrobe, but at least some cute new clothes for the fall and that fit me 'cause I'll be so skinny?!
Then after that my reward will just be fitness and fun and feelin good. I feel good about this now, in fact I just got back from my run and it went great. So we'll see....but keep me accountable!

I have found a real love for running! Good luck. Looks like you have some awesome goal treats for you. =) I need help coming up with some for myself.
